The following awards are presented every year at the ASAVA Annual Conference:
The John Holt Distinguished Service Award
Criteria: This award is given to any person within or outside of the profession who has rendered outstanding service to the ASAVA and its members.
ASAVA Practitioner of the Year
Criteria: Any active member in good standing of the ASAVA may be nominated who:
1. Is fully engaged in practice with a component of at least 25% of small animals
2. Has been actively engaged in practice with small animals for a minimum period of five years.
3. Is one, who in the eyes of their colleagues, is an outstanding practitioner in terms of the one or all of the following:
a. academic qualifications
b. services to the public
c. services to the profession
d. public image
ASAVA Award for Scientific Excellence
Criteria: This award is given to a veterinarian who has rendered outstanding scientific contributions to small animal medicine and /or surgery.

Best Case Report
