 WSAVA

The WSAVA is dedicated to the continuing development of companion animal care around the world. The WSAVA aims to foster exchange of scientific information between individual veterinarians and veterinary organizations.

What is it?
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is an ‘association of associations’. Its membership is made up of veterinary organisations from all over the world, which are concerned with small companion animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs.

There are 71 member associations, representing over 67,000 veterinarians from around the globe.

The member Associations of the WSAVA considers that a basic common standard of attitude and practice, which results in responsible pet ownership, is not only desirable, but also a realistic goal. One of the major aims and objectives is to further the cause of animal welfare in the light of current veterinary scientific knowledge.

The ASAVA is an affiliate member of the WSAVA and is represented on its committee by Dr Roger Clarke.
